Children’s Behavioral Health Services

“Placing the child and family at the center of our service delivery system”

Mission

Eliot Community Human Services has a deep commitment to promoting the behavioral health of children and their families and firmly believes that children with serious emotional disturbance are best served in their communities specifically, in their homes, schools and neighborhoods.

Principles

All of Eliot’s community based services subscribe to the following principles:

  • All children have the right to be raised by their families
  • Parents and caregivers are the experts on the care of their children. In order for any behavioral health intervention to be effective, the presence and involvement of the family in a meaningful way, is essential
  • In our programs, parents and caregivers are full participants in all aspects of planning for the care of their children
  • As a coordinated and integrated system of care, we believe that the use of the wrap around model provides the most effective outcomes for children and their families
  • We recognize that each child and family is different. Individualized care plans are essential and are based on the unique needs of each child and their family
  • Culturally competent treatment which recognizes, values and is responsive to the culture, race, language and ethnicity of the individuals and families we serve, is essential for effective treatment

Values

All of Eliot’s CBHI services are based on the following values:

  • Child Centered and Family Driven
