Vocational/Day Services

Employment Supports

Kelliher Employment Supports is a vocational program designed around the identified needs of the people served, is responsive to their expectations and strives to maximize participation in the work environments of their choice. We recognize that many individuals, due to limited work exposure, are unfamiliar with the many types of jobs available. For some individuals, our program may be their first opportunity to have meaningful input regarding work opportunities and their careers. Assessments and evaluations are completed upon admission to help an individual articulate their dreams, hopes, interests and capabilities. A person-centered planning process is used to encourage the active participation of job seekers.

Currently we provide a variety of vocational supports to more than 50 individuals. Supports are provided through a continuum of vocational and community programs ranging from:

  • Sheltered subcontract work,
  • Community enclaves, supported employment,
  • Community integration,
  • Intensive supports,
  • Competitive employment.

The different program components reflect the diversity of our services. Kelliher Employment Supports is committed to assisting individuals with disabilities in achieving their career and personal goals within their community.

Day Habilitation Services

Kelliher Day Habilitation provides services to individuals seeking goal oriented, socially based, day services with a medical management component. The program provides individualized day habilitation planning, which is responsive to the specific interests and therapy needs of each individual. Our staff access community resources such as local libraries, food banks, and community clubs to promote generalization of learning and skill attainment. The program provides volunteer opportunities for individuals to enable them to:

  • Integrate into their local community,
  • Build relationships
  • Learn how to be a vital community member.

We currently provide day supports to over 60 individuals. An active consumer/employee advisory board meets monthly to offer ideas and input relative to overall program operation. Kelliher Day Habilitation also relies on a Family Advisory Board that meets every other month and is involved with developing annual program surveys and participates in program development.
