The Bright Horizons Foundation for Children to Open Two Bright Spaces at Eliot Early Intervention Center

(Newton, MA)— The Bright Horizons Foundation for Children opened two Bright Spaces at the Eliot Early Intervention Center, 43 Dartmouth Street in Malden, MA in honor of Bright Horizons’ founders Roger Brown and Linda Mason. The founders joined Bright Horizons’ CEO Stephen Kramer along with additional company executives and board members to cut the ribbon and celebrate the openings on March 22.

Bright Spaces, the signature program of the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children, provide educational environments for play that are cheerful, inviting, safe, and fun, and support non-profits like the Eliot Early Intervention Center and the children and families in their care. The Bright Horizons Foundation has created over 350 Bright Spaces in the United States.

“Our goal with Bright Spaces, including the two new Bright Spaces at the Eliot Early Intervention Center in Malden, is to give children the opportunities they deserve to develop resilience, and form stronger bonds with their families and other caring adults. We strive to promote healing, offer nurturing and stimulating activities, and provide a stable, enriching environment for each child who walks through the door.” stated Yvonne Lynch, President of The Bright Horizons Foundation for Children. “It’s extra special that these two spaces will be dedicated to our Bright Horizons’ founders, Linda Mason and Roger Brown, two long-time advocates for the well-being of families and children.”

Bright Spaces are customized based on the needs of the non-profit organization. The two spaces created at The Eliot Early Intervention Center are for children 18-36 months of age. There is a gross-motor space for muscle development and a classroom play space for more structured activities like arts and crafts and circle time, much like a typical toddler room at a Bright Horizons child care center. These Bright Spaces will allow the children to experience a sense of normalcy and stability through play. Two vendors, All in One Construction and Tarkett Flooring have graciously donated their services to bring the space to life.

“We are so thankful to Bright Horizons Foundation for Children for renovating our Early Intervention space in Malden. This new space will continue to help children and their ongoing development. We can’t wait to see our families enjoy it,” said Chief Executive Officer Melinda Matthews.

Eliot’s Early Intervention (EI) specialists support children’s development and growth with a hands-on, family-focused approach.  Services are usually provided in the child’s home, childcare, or other community setting.  Eliot’s EI programs also offer child groups, parent groups, and music groups. Eliot’s Early Intervention programs are available in Malden and surrounding communities.
